Statement Of Faith

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is the complete revelation of God's will for the salvation of mankind, and it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21)

The Trinity

We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, that these are equal in every divine perfection, and they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption. (Luke 3:21, 22; John 14:16,17; 1 John 5:5-7)

God

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, He hears and answers prayers, and He saves from sin and death all that come to Him through Jesus Christ. (John 3:16; Romans 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3)

Jesus

We believe in Jesus Christ, God's one and only Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, true God and true man. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His death on the cross as a once for all substitute for our sins. We believe He rose physically from the dead, and ascended into heaven where He now continually intercedes for His people. We believe in His physical, visible return to earth. (John 1:1-14; Romans 3:23-26; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2:24)

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer in Christ, and He is an ever-present helper, teacher and guide. (John 16:7-11; Romans 8:26,27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14

Salvation and Regeneration

We believe  all human beings are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation.

We believe those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy

Spirit and become children of God. (Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 6:23; 1 Peter 1:18,19; John 3:16)

The Church

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of believers in Jesus Christ, associated for worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, and outreach. We believe God has commissioned the Church with the primary task of extending the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. (Matthew 16:16-18; Acts 2:4147; Hebrews 10:24,25)

Ordinances

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ has commissioned two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the

Lord’s Supper. We believe baptism should follow a profession of faith in Christ. We believe the Lord’s

Supper was instituted by Christ as a memorial of His death. (Romans 6:4; 1 Peter. 3:19-22; 1 Corinthians. 11:23-26)

The Return

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, eternal life in heaven for believers in Christ, and eternal suffering in Hell for those who reject

Christ. (I Corinthians 15:51-53; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18;   Revelation 20:11-15)

Marriage

We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female. (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:5,6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Cor. 6:9)
